Saint-Sever-de-Saintonge is a western French community with 614 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Saintes and the canton of Thénac (until 2015 Pons ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Severins .

Saint-Sever-de-Saintonge is located about eleven kilometers southeast of Saintes in the cultural landscape of the Saintonge . Saint-Sever-de-Saintonge is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chaniers in the north and north-west, Dompierre-sur-Charente in the north and north-east, Rouffiac in the east, Montils in the south and Courcoury in the west.
