Préguillac is a western French community with 450 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Saintes and the canton of Thénac (until 2015 Saintes-Ouest ). The inhabitants are called Préguillacois .

geography

Préguillac is located about eight kilometers south of Saintes in the middle of the cultural landscape of the Saintonge . Préguillac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Thénac in the north and west, Les Gonds in the northeast, Berneuil in the south and east and Tesson in the southwest.

The A10 car route runs through the municipality .
