Saint-Vaize is a western French community with 651 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Saint-Vaize belongs to the Arrondissement Saintes and the Canton of Chaniers (until 2015: Canton Saintes-Nord ). The inhabitants are called Vasily .

geography

Saint-Vaize is located about seven kilometers north of Saintes in the Saintonge . The Charente river limits the municipality to the west. Saint-Vaize is surrounded by the neighboring communities Taillebourg in the north, Le Douhet in the east and south-east, Bussac-sur-Charente in the south and Port-d'Envaux in the west.
