La Jard is a French municipality with 422 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Saintes and the Canton of Thénac (until 2015 Canton of Saintes-Est ). The inhabitants are called La Jardais (es) .
geography
La Jard is about ten kilometers southeast of Saintes . La Jard is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Berneuil in the north and west, Montils in the east, Colombiers in the east and south-east and Saint-Léger in the south.
