Brie-sous-Mortagne is a western French community with 236 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Saintes and the canton of Saintonge Estuaire (until 2015 canton of Cozes ). The inhabitants are called Briauds .

Brie-sous-Mortagne is located about 74 kilometers north-north-west of Bordeaux in the historic cultural landscape of the Saintonge . Brie-sous-Mortagne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mortagne-sur-Gironde in the north and west, Virollet in the north, Saint-Germain-du-Seudre in the east and north-east, Floirac in the south and south-east and Boutenac-Touvent in the west.
