Bussac-sur-Charente is a western French community with 1,266 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Bussac-sur-Charente belongs to the Arrondissement Saintes and the Canton of Chaniers (until 2015: Canton Saintes-Nord ). The inhabitants are called Bussacais .

geography

Bussac-sur-Charente is about four kilometers north of Saintes in the Saintonge . The Charente river limits the municipality to the west. Bussac-sur-Charente is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Vaize in the north, Le Douhet in the east, Fontcouverte in the south and south-east, Saintes in the south and Port-d'Envaux in the west.
