Médis is a southwestern French municipality with 2881 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Saintes and the Canton of Saujon . The inhabitants are called Médisais .
location
Médis is located in the old cultural landscape of the Saintonge near the Gironde estuary. Médis is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saujon in the north and north-east, Le Chay in the east, Semussac in the south-east, Saint-Georges-de-Didonne in the south, Royan in the west and south-west and Saint-Sulpice-de-Royan in the west and north-west.
Route nationale 150 runs through the municipality .
