The Canton Ile de Re is a French canton in the district of La Rochelle , in the department of Charente-Maritime and in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It includes the ten municipalities of the island of Ré . During the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in 2015, it was newly formed from the two predecessor cantons Ars-en-Ré and Saint-Martin-de-Ré .
