Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré is a municipality with 2248 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) on the Île de Ré on the French Atlantic coast , which has been named after him since 1927 and is a merger of the three former independent hamlets Bois , Le Morinand and Rouland is. The former name Le Bois is also still very common today. It is a small town without its own port on the south coast of the Île de Ré, opposite the coast of the island of Île d'Oléron . Personalities

  • René Théodore Phelippot was a local councilor and mayor for 22 years. He was the founder and collector of a museum in his home. After his death, the exhibits were bought up by Enest Cognacq in order to establish the fund of the Ernest Cognacq Museum in Saint-Martin-de-Ré .
