Croix-Chapeau is located about twelve kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle in the historic Aunis landscape . Croix-Chapeau is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Jarrie in the north, Aigrefeuille-d'Aunis in the east, Le Thou in the south-east, Thairé in the south and Salles-sur-Mer in the north-west.
