Croix-Chapeau is a French commune with 1,245 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the arrondissement of La Rochelle , the canton of La Jarrie and is a member of the commune association La Rochelle Agglomération . The inhabitants are called Cruci-Capétiens or Croix-Capétiens .
geography
Croix-Chapeau is located about twelve kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle in the historic Aunis landscape . Croix-Chapeau is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Jarrie in the north, Aigrefeuille-d'Aunis in the east, Le Thou in the south-east, Thairé in the south and Salles-sur-Mer in the north-west.
