Saint-Vivien is a French commune with 1,307 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the arrondissement of La Rochelle , the canton of Châtelaillon-Plage (until 2015: canton of La Jarrie ) and is a member of the La Rochelle Agglomération community . The inhabitants are called Vivianais (es) .

geography

Saint-Vivien is located about eleven kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle in the historic Aunis landscape . Saint-Vivien is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Salles-sur-Mer in the north, Thairé in the east, Yves in the south and Châtelaillon-Plage in the west.

Route nationale 137 runs along the western edge of the municipality .
