Angoulins (also: Angoulins-sur-Mer ) is a French municipality and a seaside resort with 3940 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Angoulins belongs to the arrondissement of La Rochelle and (until December 31, 2014) to the canton of Aytré . As of January 1, 2015, Angoulins belongs to the canton of Châtelaillon-Plage . The inhabitants are called Angoulinois (es) .
geography
Angoulins is located on the Atlantic coast about seven kilometers southeast of La Rochelle . Angoulins is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Aytré in the north, La Jarne in the east and northeast, Salles-sur-Mer in the east and southeast and Châtelaillon-Plage in the south.
The national route 137 runs through the municipality .
