Vérines is a French commune with 2,245 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the arrondissement of La Rochelle , the canton of La Jarrie and is a member of the commune association La Rochelle Agglomération . The inhabitants are called Vérinois (es) .
geography
Vérines is located about 18 kilometers east-northeast of La Rochelle in the historic Aunis landscape . Vérines is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Longèves in the north and north-east, Angliers in the east, Anais in the east and south-east, Saint-Christophe in the south and south-east, Saint-Médard-d'Aunis in the south, Sainte-Soulle in the west and Saint-Ouen- d'Aunis in the northwest.
The National Route 11 runs through the municipality .
