Yves is a French commune with 1,477 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Yves belongs to the arrondissement of La Rochelle and the canton of Châtelaillon-Plage (until 2015: canton of Rochefort-Nord ). The inhabitants are called Yvéens .

Yves is located on the Atlantic Ocean . Yves is surrounded by the neighboring communities Châtelaillon-Plage in the north and north-west, Saint-Vivien in the north, Thairé in the north-east, Ballon in the east, Breuil-Magné in the south-east, Saint-Laurent-de-la-Prée in the south and Fouras in the south-west.
The national route 137 crosses the municipality.
