Taugon is a French municipality with 791 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017), in the department of Charente-Maritime and in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (previously: Poitou-Charentes ) is located. It belongs to the arrondissement of La Rochelle and the canton of Marans . The inhabitants are called Taugonnais .
geography
Taugon is located about 29 kilometers northeast of La Rochelle on the Sèvre Niortaise , which borders the municipality in the north. Taugon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vix in the north and north-west, Maillé in the north-east, La Ronde in the east, Saint-Cyr-du-Doret in the south and Saint-Jean-de-Liversay in the west and south-west.
