Thairé is a French commune with 1,691 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the arrondissement of La Rochelle , to the canton of La Jarrie (until 2015: canton of Aigrefeuille-d'Aunis ) and is a member of the La Rochelle agglomeration community . The inhabitants are called Thairésiens .
geography
Thairé is located about 13 kilometers southeast of La Rochelle in the historic Aunis landscape . Thairé is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Croix-Chapeau in the north, Le Thou in the east and north-east, Ballon in the east and south-east, Yves in the south and south-west, Saint-Vivien in the west and Salles-sur-Mer in the north-west.
