Marsilly is a commune with 3045 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the arrondissement of La Rochelle and the canton of Lagord (until 2015: canton of La Rochelle-5 ). The residents call themselves Marsellois (es) .

geography

Marsilly is about eight kilometers north of La Rochelle on the Atlantic coast . Marsilly is surrounded by the neighboring communities Esnandes in the north, Villedoux in the northeast, Saint-Xandre in the east and southeast and Nieul-sur-Mer in the south and southwest.
