Aytré is accessed in a west-east direction from the D939 département road, which leads from La Rochelle to Surgères . The north-south axis forms the D137, which has been expanded here to a bypass road from La Rochelle under the name of the national road N137 . At the same time, a railway line runs from La Rochelle to Rochefort , which has a stop in the Plage-d'Aytré district .
