The District of Le Château-d'Oléron was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Rochefort in the Charente-Maritime region of Poitou-Charentes . It included the four southern parishes of the Île d'Oléron ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Le Château-d'Oléron . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015 as part of the merger with the canton of Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron, which is adjacent to the north . The last representative in the conseil général des Départements was Michel Parent ( DVD ) for the years 1994–2015 .
