Pargowo (German Pargow ) is a village in northwestern Poland . It is located 18 kilometers southwest of Szczecin on the border with Germany . It belongs to the Police District , West Pomeranian Voivodeship , and is part of the Kołbaskowo (Kolbitzow) municipality . The place, first mentioned in 1240, belonged to the Prussian district Randow ( Pomerania province ) until 1939 and to the district Greifenhagen from 1939 to 1945 . In 1945, as a result of the Second World War , Pargow was placed under Polish administration and renamed Pargowo. The German residents were expelled. Since then, the German-Polish border has been running immediately west of the town and since 1951 also immediately south of Pargow, when the neighboring town of Staffelde became German again as part of an exchange of territory.
