Barnisław (German Barnimslow ) is a village in the northwest of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Powiat Policki ( Pölitz ), West Pomeranian Voivodeship, and is part of the municipality of Kołbaskowo ( Kolbitzow ).

Geographical location

Barnisław is located in Western Pomerania , twelve kilometers southwest of Stettin on the border with the Federal Republic of Germany . In the west the place borders on a large lake.

Village church

history

In the church village around 1775 there was a tenant of the former school yard, which the Eickstedt family had previously owned, 14 farmers, one of whom ran the windmill, a preacher, a sexton, a preacher's widow's house, a blacksmith and an innkeeper.

Around 1930, the district of Barnimslow had an area of ​​7.8 km². There were three residential areas within the municipal boundaries, in which there were a total of 44 houses:

  1. Barnimslow
  2. Leppin
  3. New Barnimslow

In 1925 there were 417 residents in Barnimslow, who were distributed among 84 households.

Barnim Slow belonged to the end of World War II for Administrative district Stettin of Pomerania and was found in 1945 along with other parts of Pomerania and the Neumark under Polish administration. For the history of the region see the history of Pomerania .

The majority of the population present in Barnimslow before 1945 belonged to the Protestant creed. In 1925 there were 73 Catholics in the village.

Barnisław was a stop on the Casekow – Penkun – Oder railway , which ran from Casekow to Pomorzany Port ( Pommerensdorf Harbor ).
