Smolęcin (German Schmellenthin ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . The village forms part of the Gmina Kołbaskowo ( rural municipality Kolbitzow ) in the Powiat Policki ( Pölitzer district ). The place is about 11 kilometers southwest of Stettin ( Szczecin ) and about 23 kilometers south of Police ( Pölitz ).

Schmellenthin formed a rural community in the Randow district of the Prussian province of Pomerania . When the Randow district was dissolved in 1939, Schmellenthin came to the Greifenhagen district
