Kołbaskowo ( German Kolbitzow , also Colbitzow ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of the Gmina Kołbaskowo (rural municipality Kolbitzow) and belongs with this to the powiat Policki (Pölitzer district) .

Geographical location

The village is located in eastern Western Pomerania , ten kilometers southwest of Stettin on the border with the Federal Republic of Germany .

Village church

history

Kołbaskowo is an old church village. Kołbaskowo is mentioned under his former name Kolbaskow in a document from 1303, with which Bishop Heinrich donated the income of three churches, namely that of Pomellen , Rosow and Kolbaskow , to the nunnery in Stettin to care for his sick. The main source of income for the village was agriculture and forestry. Around the year 1775 there were ten farmers, a kossa , a pastor, a schoolmaster and a blacksmith in the church village, which at that time no longer belonged to the nunnery in Stettin . On January 1, 1862, there were 33 residential buildings, 35 outbuildings, a post mill with a grinder and a cylinder, and 313 residents in Kolbitzow, who were distributed among 58 families, including one Catholic.

Around 1930 the district of Kolbitzow had an area of 6.2 km², and within the municipality's borders there were a total of 61 houses in three different places of residence:

In 1925 there were 580 inhabitants in the Kolbitzow community, who were distributed over 110 households.

Kolbitzow belonged to the end of World War II for Administrative district Stettin of Pomerania and in 1945 together with other parts of Pomerania and the Neumark part of Poland.

Parish

The parish of Kolbitzow was Protestant from the Reformation until 1945. In 1925 there were eight Catholics in Kolbitzow in addition to the Protestants.

Since May 1st 2004 the customs department in Kołbaskowo has been one of the internal customs offices of the European Union . In the current state of development, the joint handling facilities on an area of 34 hectares have been completed since June 4, 1996 . Border traffic is possible all the time.

The town can be reached from the Federal Republic of Germany via the federal highway 11 ( Europastraße 28 ) and the federal highway 2 (former Reichsstraße 2 ), from Stettin ( Szczecin ) and Hinterpommern via the national road DK 13 or the highway A 6 .
