Będargowo (German Mandelkow ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gmina Kołbaskowo (rural community Kolbitzow) in the powiat Policki (Pölitz district) .

Geographical location

Będargowo is located in eastern Western Pomerania , about eight kilometers southwest of Stettin and eleven kilometers west of Gartz (Oder) .

history

Village church

The village is first mentioned in documents from the 13th century. In a document from 1220 the Pomeranian Duchess Anastasia mentioned that she had given the village, here called Brandargowe , to the Stettin Jakobikirche . In a document from 1233, Pope Gregory IX confirmed . the "monastery" St. Jakobi in Stettin, especially the village called Bandergowe . In a document from 1237, Duke Barnim I of the Jakobikirche confirmed the ownership of the village, which appeared here for the first time with the place name Mandelkow .

At the beginning of the 1930s, the district of Mandelkow had an area of ​​9 km², and there were 44 houses in four residential areas:

  1. Gulkow
  2. Mandelkow
  3. Warnichsfelde
  4. Warningshof

After the end of the Second World War , the village became part of Poland in 1945 together with the so-called Stettiner Zipfel . Mandelkow was renamed Będargowo .

Mandelkow was a stop on the Casekow – Penkun – Oder railway , which ran from Casekow to Pommerensdorf .
