Stanislav Neckář (born December 22, 1975 in České Budějovice , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player who worked for the Ottawa Senators , New York Rangers , Phoenix Coyotes , Tampa Bay Lightning and Nashville Predators in his active time from 1991 to 2006 played the National Hockey League .

Career

Stanislav Neckář began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth of HC České Budějovice , for whose professional team he was active from 1991 to 1994. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1994 in the second round as a total of 29 players by the Ottawa Senators , for which he played the following four years in the National Hockey League , before joining the New York Rangers on November 27, 1998 was delivered. After only 18 games, the defender left the Rangers again and ran for the Phoenix Coyotes in the following two years . From 2001 to 2004 the Czech was under contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning , with which he won the prestigious Stanley Cup in the 2003/04 season . He was also in the same season in a game for their league rivals Nashville Predators on the ice. During the lockout in the 2004/05 NHL season , Neckar played for his former club HC České Budějovice in the Czech extra league . Even after the resumption of play in the NHL in the 2005/06 season, the left shooter stayed in Europe, where he ended his career at Södertälje SK in the Swedish Elitserien following this season.

International

For Czechoslovakia Neckar took part in the Junior World Championship in 1993 , where he finished third with his team. For the Czech Republic he took part in the 1996 World Cup and the 1996 World Cup of Hockey .
