Dolus-d'Oléron is a French municipality with 3229 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Rochefort and is part of the canton of Île d'Oléron . The inhabitants are called Dolusien (ne) s .
geography
The municipality is located on the island of Île d'Oléron and stretches like a strip to both coasts in the west and east to the Atlantic . Dolus-d'Oléron is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron in the north, Le Château-d'Oléron in the south and south-east and Le Grand-Village-Plage in the south.
