The inhabitants are called Beauvaisiens .

Beauvais-sur-Matha is located about 75 kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle in the Saintonge . Beauvais-sur-Matha is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bazauges in the north, Ranville-Breuillaud in the north-east, Bresdon in the east and south-east, Saint-Ouen-la-Thène in the south-east, Siecq in the south, Massac in the south-west, Gourvillette in the west and south-west as well Cressé to the west and northwest.
