Naibenu ( Indonesian Naibenu ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the west of the administrative district of North Central Timor (Timor Tengah Utara) of the East Nusa Tenggara Province (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . In the northeast is the district of Nordinsana (Insana Utara) , in the east east Miomaffo (Miomaffo Timur) and central Bikomi (Bikomi Tengah) in the south. In the east, Naibenu borders on the exclave of Oe-Cusse Ambeno, which belongs to the state of East Timor .
Naibenu has an area of 88 km² and is divided into the four Desa Sunsea in the south, Bakitolas and Benus in the center and Manamas in the north. The administrative headquarters are in Bakitolas. Benus and Manamas are at an altitude of less than 500 m , Sunsea and Baikitolas between 500 m and 700 m . As usual in Timor, the climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season .

Residents
In 2017 there were 5,428 inhabitants in Naibenu. 2,560 are men, 2,868 are women. The population density is 61.68 people per square kilometer. 5,423 people profess the Catholic faith and five are Protestants. There are five Catholic churches in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (2,603), buffalo (4), pigs (2,611), goats (1,491), chickens (7,601) and ducks (75) are kept as pets. Maize is grown on 200 hectares, rice on 256 hectares, cassava on 200 hectares, sweet potatoes on eight hectares and peanuts on twelve hectares. Oranges, bananas, mangoes, papayas, jackfruits, avocados and pineapples are also harvested.
There are six elementary schools, three middle schools and one secondary school in Naibenu. A community health center ( Puskesmas ), a medical care center ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) and three midwifery centers ( Polindes ) are available for medical care .
34.0 kilometers of roads are paved. 5.5 kilometers of roads are covered with gravel. Simple clay slopes in the district have a length of 14.6 kilometers. Public transport is operated by five minibuses, seven pick ups, two trucks and 115 motorcycles.
