Biboki Moenleu is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the north of the administrative district of North Central Timor (Timor Tengah Utara) of the East Nusa Tenggara Province (Nusa Tenggara Timur) on the north coast of Timor , on the Sawu Sea . In the west are the districts of Nordinsana (Insana Utara) and Central Insana (Insana Tengah) , in the south south Biboki (Biboki Selatan) and in the east Biboki Feotleu and Biboki Anleu .
Biboki Moenleu has an area of 85.50 km² and is divided into the seven Desa Tunbes and Luniup in the south, Matabesi and Kaubele in the center and Oepuah , North Oepuah (Oepuah Utara) and South Oepuah (Oepuah Selatan) in the north. The administrative headquarters are in Mena . The entire territory is less than 500 m above sea level . As usual in Timor, the climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season .

Residents
In 2017 there were 8,234 inhabitants in Biboki Moenleu. 4,082 were men, 4,152 women. The population density was 96 people per square kilometer. 7,796 people professed the Catholic faith, 422 were Protestants and twelve people were Muslim. There was one Catholic church and seven chapels and one Protestant church in the district.
history
Mena is a former Timorese empire. It was already a port of call for Portuguese traders in the 16th century. In 1590 the first church of the empire was built here by Father Belchior da Luz . In 1641 the ruler Menas converted to Christianity.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (6,794), horses (19), buffaloes (18), pigs (5,021), goats (3,593) and chickens (8,272) are kept as pets. Corn is grown on 660 hectares, rice on 702 hectares, cassava on 40 hectares, sweet potatoes on two hectares and peanuts on 20 hectares.
In Biboki Moenleu there are eight elementary schools, four middle schools and one secondary school. A community health center ( Puskesmas ), a medical care center ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) and six midwifery centers ( Polindes ) are available for medical care .
Public transport is operated by 36 trucks, seven buses and 191 motorcycles.
