North Bikomi ( Indonesian Bikomi Utara ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the west of the administrative district of North Central Timor (Timor Tengah Utara) of the East Nusa Tenggara Province (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . In the northeast lies the Naibenu district , in the east East Miomaffo (Miomaffo Timur) and in the south Central Bikomi (Bikomi Tengah) . In the northwest, Nordbikomi borders on the Oe-Cusse Ambeno exclave belonging to the state of East Timor .
North Bikomi has an area of 70.70 km² and is divided into nine Desa . Faennake , Baas and Haumeni in the south, Napan and Tes in the west, Sainoni in the center (with a small exclave in the northeast) and Banain A , Banain B and Banain C in the north. The administrative headquarters are in Napan. The territory is largely located at an altitude of 500 m to 700 m . As usual in Timor, the climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season .
Residents
In 2017 there were 6,215 inhabitants in Nordbikomi. 3,075 are men, 3,140 women. The population density is 88 people per square kilometer. 6,195 people profess the Catholic faith and 20 are Protestants. There is a Catholic church and five chapels in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (5,265), pigs (4,099), goats (5,470), sheep (12), chickens (4,437) and ducks (17) are kept as pets. Corn is grown on 1,950 hectares, rice on PADI SAWAH / PADI LADANG hectares, cassava on 300 hectares, peanuts on 7 hectares and green beans on 5 hectares. Avocados, mangoes, oranges, papayas, bananas, pineapples, jackfruits and onions are also planted. Coconuts, cashews, coffee, cocoa, hazelnuts, kapok , betel nuts, pepper and vanilla are harvested for trade .
There are eight elementary schools, three middle schools and two secondary schools in Nordbikomi. A municipal health center ( Puskesmas ), two medical care centers ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) and six midwifery centers ( Polindes ) are available for medical care .
1.42 kilometers of roads are paved. 3.08 kilometers of roads are covered with gravel. Simple clay slopes in the district have a length of 4.40 kilometers. Public transport is operated by 31 minibuses, nine pick-ups and trucks, 232 motorcycles and one other vehicle. The border crossing to the East Timorese Bobometo is near Napan .
