East Miomaffo ( Indonesian Miomaffo Timur ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the west of the administrative district of North Central Timor (Timor Tengah Utara) of the East Nusa Tenggara Province (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . In the southwest is the district of Central Bikomi (Bikomi Tengah) , in the west North Bikomi (Bikomi Utara) , in the north Naibenu , in the east Insana Fafinesu and Central Insana (Insana Tengah) and in the south Westinsana (Insana Barat) and the city of Kefamenanu .
East Miomaffo has an area of 101.45 km² and is divided into the eleven Desa Oesena , Taekas (Taikas) , Femnasi , Jak , Tuntun , Tunoe , Bokon , Kaebaun , Fatusene , Amol and Bitefa . The administrative headquarters are in Oesena. The territory lies entirely at an altitude of over 700 m . As usual in Timor, the climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season .

Residents
In 2017 there were 11,936 inhabitants in East Miomaffo. 5,936 are men and 6,000 are women. The population density is 118 people per square kilometer. 11,872 people profess the Catholic faith, 58 are Protestants, five are Muslim and one is Hindu. There are 18 Catholic churches in the district.
history
The traditional kingdom of Tunbaba lay in the territory of East Miomaffo . The main town was Kaenbaun (Desa Kaebaun).
1899 there were armed clashes between the locals from the Portuguese Oe-Cusse Ambeno and those from the Dutch Tunbaba where it is still rich Sandelholzvorkommen was. The final demarcation between the colonial powers Portugal and the Netherlands took place with the treaties of 1904 and 1916.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (4,506), horses (53), buffalo (9), pigs (2,985), goats (1,633), chickens (8,097) and ducks (50) are kept as pets. Corn is grown on 1,628 hectares, rice on 1,454 hectares, manioc on 789 hectares, peanuts on 157 hectares and green beans on 78 hectares.
There are two kindergartens in Oesena, and 13 primary schools (five state and eight private), five middle schools and one secondary school in the district.
26 kilometers of roads are paved. 18 kilometers of roads are covered with gravel. Public transport is operated by two minibuses, 23 pick ups, 12 trucks, two buses and 180 motorcycles.
