South Bikomi ( Indonesian Bikomi Selatan ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the south of the administrative district of North Central Timor (Timor Tengah Utara) in the province of East Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . To the north are the districts of Central Bikomi (Bikomi Tengah) , Kefamenanu , Westinsana (Insana Barat) and Insana , to the south of Central Miomaffo (Miomaffo Tengah) , Noimuti , East Noimuti (Noimuti Timur) and the district of Rinhat, which belongs to the Malaka administrative district .
South Bikomi has an area of 48.68 km² and is divided into ten Desa . To the west are Kiusili , Oelami , Oetalus and Naiola . To the east are South Maurisu (Maurisu Selatan) , Maurisu , North Maurisu (Maurisu Utara) and Central Maurisu (Maurisu Tengah) . The center of the district is Ostnaiola (Naiola Timur) and Tublopo . The administrative headquarters are in Oelami. The territory is mostly at an altitude of between 200 m and 700 m . As usual in Timor, the climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season .
Residents
In 2017 there were 11,266 inhabitants in South Bikomi. 5,532 are men, 5,734 women. The population density is 231 people per square kilometer. 9,739 people profess the Catholic faith, 1,336 are Protestants, 159 people are Muslim and 32 are Hindu and Buddhists. There are eleven Catholic and seven Protestant chapels and a mosque in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (4,511), horses (26), buffalos (34), pigs (3,315), goats (519) and chickens (6,973) are kept as pets. Corn is grown on 395 hectares, 540 hectares of rice, 130 hectares of cassava, 28 hectares of peanuts and 13 hectares of green beans. You can also harvest avocados, mangoes, rambutans , oranges, papayas, bananas, pineapples and jackfruits . Coconuts, cashew nuts, coffee, cocoa (in small quantities), hazelnuts, kapok , areca nuts and a little vanilla and pepper grow on plantations . A total of 4,515 hectares serve as agricultural land.
There are 15 primary schools, five middle schools, one secondary school and one college in South Bikomi.
13.03 kilometers of roads are paved. 13.02 kilometers of roads are covered with gravel. Simple clay slopes in the district have a length of 0.8 kilometers. Public transport is operated by 14 minibuses, 15 pick ups and trucks, 155 motorcycles and two other vehicles.
