Rinhat is a district ( Kecamatan ) of the Indonesian administrative district ( Indonesian Kabupaten ) Malaka ( East Nusa Tenggara Province ) on the island of Timor . The administrative headquarters are in Biudukfoho .

Rinhat is located in the west of the Malaka administrative district in western central Timor. To the east it borders the districts of Io Kufeu , Sasita Mean , Central Malaka and Weliman . Further to the west, Rinhat is framed by the administrative districts ( Kabupaten ) of north-central Timor (Timor Tengah Utara) in the north and south- central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan) in the south. Rinhat has an area of ​​151.72 km².

The district is divided into 20 villages ( Indonesian Desa ). The largest Desa in terms of area is Naet with 16.84 km², followed by Tafuli I with 13.59 km² and Taifuli with 13.55 km².

Three rivers flow in Rinhat: the Benenai (50 km, along the northern border), the Boen (7 km) and the Mota Delek (4 km). 2,241.97 hectares of the district consist of forest that is managed.

In 2015 there were 70 rainy days with a total of 1,076 mm of precipitation. The temperature fluctuates between 24 and 34 ° C.

The main towns of the villages are all above 500  m .

Residents

In 2016, 15,117 people (7,443 men and 7,674 women) lived in 4,141 households in the district. 2,137 residents were 0 to 4 years old, 143 were 75 years or older. Most of the people live in Biudukfoho (1,399 inhabitants).

14,048 people profess the Catholic faith, 1,066 are Protestants and three are Muslims. There are 16 Catholic churches and chapels and 11 Protestant churches in the district.

Public facilities and infrastructure

There are 21 elementary schools, five junior high schools, and one senior high school in the district. 63 health facilities are available for medical care.

economy

Maize is planted on most of the arable land. It grows in Rinhat on 3,798 hectares. With five hectares of cultivated land, rice plays only a minor role. Manioc is of greater importance with 970 hectares of cultivation area. Other agricultural products include green beans (125 hectares), sweet potatoes (200 hectares), pecans , coconuts and cocoa. In 2015, the district kept 8,238 cattle, 6,866 pigs, 31 ducks and 12,514 chickens as farm animals. There were no water buffalos, goats and sheep.

290 manufacturing and processing companies are active in Laenmanen. There are also 51 small traders.
