Io Kufeu is a district ( Kecamatan ) of the Indonesian administrative district ( Indonesian Kabupaten ) Malaka ( East Nusa Tenggara Province ) on the island of Timor . The administrative seat is in Fatuao in the administrative village (Desa) Tunabesi .

Io Kufeu is located in the west of the Malaka administrative district in western central Timor. To the west is the administrative district ( Kabupaten ) of North Central Timor (Timor Tengah Utara) , to the north and east of the Sasita Mean district and to the south of the Rinhat district . Io Kufeu has an area of 67.79 km².
The district is divided into seven villages ( Indonesian Desa ): Tunmat occupies the entire northwest of Io Kufeu and has an area of 4.85 km². In the northeast are the villages of Tunabesi (4.85 km²) and Biau (7.63 km²) and in the southwest are Kufeu (11.20 km²), Ikan Tuanbesi (14.27 km²) and Bani-Bani (11.20 km²) ). The southern tip is the village of Fatoin with 13.79 km².
Io Kufeu is located between 400 m and 500 m above sea level , with the main towns of the villages all being below 500 m . Three rivers flow in the district. By desas Fatoin, Bani-Bani, Piao, Tunabesi and Tunmat flows Piao , the Benenai crosses Fatoin and Ikan Tuanbeis and the smaller Oe Bauteon flows in Desa Biau.
Residents
In 2016 there were 7,959 people (3,818 men and 4,141 women) in 2,143 households in the district. 1070 residents were 0 to 4 years old, 159 were 75 years or older. Most of the people live in Desa Tunabesi (2,342 inhabitants). 8,705 people profess the Catholic faith, 337 are Protestants and one Muslim. The district has a Catholic church in Biau, five Catholic chapels and a Protestant church in Kufeu.
Public facilities
There are eleven elementary schools, five junior high schools, and one senior high school in the district. 32 health facilities are available for medical care.
economy
Rice is grown on 475 hectares, maize is planted on 1,800 hectares and cassava grows on 125 hectares. Other crops are peanuts (45 hectares), green beans (100 hectares) and sweet potatoes (25 hectares). In 2015, the district kept 2523 cattle, 26 horses, 3,895 pigs and 333 goats as farm animals. There are also 19,953 chickens and 77 ducks. There are no water buffalos and sheep. There is also no industry in the district. 64 small traders operate in Io Kufeu.
