Westinsana ( Indonesian Insana Barat ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the south of the administrative district of North Central Timor (Timor Tengah Utara) in the province of East Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . In the east is the Insana district , in the south South Bikomi (Bikomi Selatan) , in the west Kefamenanu , in the northwest East Miomaffo (Miomaffo Timur) and in the north Central Insana (Insana Tengah) .
Westinsana has an area of 117.70 km² and is divided into the twelve Desa Subun , Lapeom , Usapinonot , Unini , Letneo , Banae , Admen , South Letneo (Letneo Selatan) , Nifunenas , Subun Tualele , Subun Bestobe and Oabikase . The administrative headquarters are in Mamsena . Most of the territory is less than 500 m above sea level , only the village of Subun is up to 700 m . As usual in Timor, the climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season .

Residents
In 2017, Westinsana had a population of 10,296. 5,214 were men, 5,031 women. The population density was 87 people per square kilometer. 10,144 people professed their Catholic faith, 138 were Protestants. There were seven Catholic and two Protestant churches in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (5,475), horses (17), pigs (3,174), goats (1,146), ducks (2) and chickens (9,875) are kept as pets. Corn is grown on 1,035 hectares, 80 hectares of rice, 360 hectares of cassava, 58 hectares of peanuts and 45 hectares of green beans. Other agricultural products include bananas, mangoes, papayas and avocados.
Westinsana has twelve elementary schools, three middle schools, and two secondary schools. A community health center ( Puskesmas ), two medical care centers ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) and six midwifery centers ( Polindes ) are available for medical care .
21 kilometers of roads are paved. Simple clay slopes in the district have a length of 29.5 kilometers. Public transport is operated by five minibuses, 26 pick ups, two trucks and 85 motorcycles.
