Massac is a French municipality with 175 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement Saint-Jean-d'Angély and is part of the canton Matha . The inhabitants are called Massacois .

geography

Massac is located about 75 kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle in the Saintonge . Massac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Gourvillette in the north, Beauvais-sur-Matha in the northeast, Siecq in the east and southeast and Haimps in the south and west.
