Champdolent is a French commune of 400 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Jean-d'Angély and the canton of Saint-Jean-d'Angély (until 2015: canton of Saint-Savinien ). The inhabitants are called Champdoloriciens .

Champdolent is about 40 kilometers southeast of La Rochelle . Champdolent is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lussant in the north and north-west, Saint-Coutant-le-Grand in the north, Puy-du-Lac in the north and north-east, Archingeay in the east and north-east, Saint-Savinien in the south-east, Bords in the south and Cabariot in the West.
The A837 autoroute runs through the municipality .
