La Croix-Comtesse is a French municipality with 223 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Jean-d'Angély and is part of the canton of Saint-Jean-d'Angély (until 2015: canton of Loulay ). The inhabitants are called Crucicomtessins .

La Croix-Comtesse is about 58 kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle in the Saintonge . La Croix-Comtesse is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Villeneuve-la-Comtesse in the north, Coivert in the east and south-east and Lusté in the south and west.
