Şevki Şenlen (born July 22, 1949 in Ankara , † May 21, 2005 in Istanbul ) was a Turkish football player .

Athletic career

In the club

Şevki Şenlen started his career at Ankara Demirspor . The striker played there until 1971. Before the start of the 1971/72 season, he moved to league rivals Eskişehirspor . This season, Şenlen was runner-up. He made 18 goals in the league and was the season's top scorer after his strike partner Fethi Heper . Both players thus had a large share in the runner-up. On June 7, 1972, he and his teammates won the Başbakanlık Kupası . They defeated Altay İzmir 2-0. In two years for Eskişehirspor he came to 59 league games and scored 27 goals.

Şenlen moved from Eskişehirspor to Galatasaray Istanbul . During his time for Galatasaray, Şevki Şenlen won the Başbakanlık Kupası again and in 1976 the Turkish Football Cup . In this cup season he was the highest scoring player with eight goals. He scored four times in the second leg of the third main round against Eskişehir Demirspor alone .

After four years in the yellow-red jersey , Şenlen moved to city rivals Fenerbahçe Istanbul and became Turkish champions in his first season. In 1979 the Turkish Cup victory followed. Şevki Şenlen ended his career in the summer of 1980.
