Hasan Çelik (born March 27, 1968 in Istanbul ) is a former Turkish football player and coach. Because of his many years of service for Gaziantepspor , he is associated with this association. With 34 goals for Denizlispor , he was the top scorer of the TFF 1st Lig in the second division season 1997/98 .

Player career

society

Çelik started his professional football career in the summer of 1989 with the southern Turkish second division club Gaziantepspor . He managed to jump into the starting eleven right away. With his strike partner Oktay Çevik he formed one of the most dangerous strikers in the league and contributed to the fact that his club was champions of the 2nd league at the end of the season and after an eight-year absence rose again to the top Turkish league. Promoted to the 1st Lig , Çelik established himself as the most successful goalscorer of his team for two seasons. From the 1992/93 season he formed one of the most dangerous storm trios of the next few years with the newly added Elvir Bolić and Hasan Özer . In the 1992/93 season Çelik experienced his most successful first division season with 15 league goals. The following season he started similarly successfully and rose to the national team.

After Çelik became one of the most successful strikers in the league and made it into the national team, several larger teams noticed him. So Çelik switched to league rivals Bursaspor in the summer of 1994/95 . At his new club he started the season with a brace against Petrol Ofisi SK on the first match day and was regularly used by coach Nevzat Güzelırmak . After Güzelırmak was replaced after the 3rd season by Nejat Biyediç and this new coach Çelik could not play continuously, Çelik was loaned to the league rivals Kayserispor , the new club of his old coach Güzelırmak in December 1994 .

At the end of the season he moved back to his old club Gaziantepspor . Here he was placed in the starting eleven by coach Sakıp Özberk for the first two game days and always played the full length of the game. Since he was either always substituted for the following three game days or sat on the bench and his last club Kayserispor signaled interest in him at the urging of coach Güzelırmak, Çelik moved to this club in September 1995. During the course of the season Güzelırmak was replaced by Samet Aybaba and missed relegation at the end of the season. Çelik remained loyal to his club Kayserispor and went into the 2nd league and started the new season here.

After the first division club Denizlispor expressed interest in Çelik at the end of October 1996 , he switched to Denizlispor. Also with this club failed at the end of the season relegation, so Çelik relegated for the second year in a row with his current team. After relegation, Çelik stayed with Denizlispor and was the top scorer of the 2nd league of the second division season 1997/98 with 34 goals . His club finished level on points with the table runner-up Adanaspor in 3rd place and just missed the direct re-promotion. The team then took part in the play-offs of the 2nd Lig, but dropped out in the semifinals and also missed the indirect promotion.

For the new season he moved to league rivals Göztepe Izmir . Here he was one of the most successful strikers of the second division season with 20 league goals and played a significant role in the fact that his team rose back to the first division after 19 years of abstinence after winning the play-offs in the second division . After the promotion he was not used by the new coach Jozef Jarabinský and sat on the bench until the winter break. For the second half of the season he was then loaned to the second division Diyarbakırspor . Although he was only active here in the second half of the season, he scored eleven goals in 19 league games and played a major role in his team's play-off finals. A 0-2 defeat against Çaykur Rizespor missed promotion to the 1st Lig. For the new season, Çelik moved to Diyarbakırspor for a transfer. In his second season for Diyarbakırspor he achieved the runner-up in the 2nd Lig with his team and rose to the highest Turkish league, which had changed its name in the summer of 2001 from 1st Lig to Süper Lig . Çelik was with his 18 league goals as the most successful goalscorer significantly involved in this success.

After being promoted to the Süper Lig with Diyarbakırspor, Çelik stayed in the squad, but did not play until the winter break. So he left this club in the spring of 2002 and moved to the third division Karşıyaka SK . Here he established himself straight away as a regular player and top performer. With his team he reached the play-off final of the TFF 2nd Lig and only missed promotion to the TFF 1st Lig due to the 1: 2 final defeat against Adana Demirspor . The next season he rose with his team as champions of the TFF 2nd Lig in the TFF 1st Lig. Following this success he played a season in the 2nd division for Karşıyaka and then ended his active football career.

National team

Due to his convincing performances at Gaziantepspor , he caught the attention of the Turkish national coach Fatih Terim in 1995 and was nominated by him for the first time in October 1993 for the Turkish national team . In the 1994 World Cup qualifier against the Polish national team on October 27, 1993, he was on the bench. A month later, he received another nomination in a World Cup 1994 qualifier against the Norwegian national team , but was also on the bench in this game. He made his international debut in April 1995, during a friendly against the Russian national team . After this game he was no longer considered for the national team.

Coaching career

Hasan Çelik began his coaching career right after the end of his playing career. His first job was to take on the position of assistant coach at Izmirspor in the summer of 2004, and after one season he looked after this team as head coach. In the following years he worked mainly as head coach and mostly looked after clubs in the TFF 2nd Lig , TFF 3rd Lig and the regional amateur leagues.
