Çankırıspor is a Turkish football club from the city of Çankırı . The black and white play their home games in Ataturk City Stadium Çankırı . The team is referred to by the fans as Genç Yarenler .

history

The club was founded in 1993 under the name Çankırı Belediyespor by the then mayor Raif Oktay and only operated indoor sports at first. In 1994 the newly elected mayor Ahmet Bukan expanded the club to include a football department. After about two years in the regional amateur leagues, the club rose to the 1995/96 season in what was then the third highest division, the 3rd Lig (now TFF 2nd Lig ).

In the summer of 2012, the city administration withdrew from the management of the association and handed over all powers to the new association president Sevda Karaali. Karaali removed the term Belediye (German: city administration) from the club name in the summer of 2012 , so that the name Çankırıspor was retained.

The club management of Çankırıspor requested after the 29th match day of the 2014/15 season, after the club was determined to be relegated, the withdrawal from the league. After this withdrawal, the regulations came into force, according to which teams that did not play two games within a season for no reason were automatically forced to relegate. The club's four remaining games were rated 3-0 defeat. Three points were deducted from the club because of an infraction.
