Okan Yılmaz (born May 16, 1978 in Bursa ) is a Turkish football player. He was twice the top scorer in the highest Turkish league and once in the second highest Turkish league .

Career

Club career

Okan Yılmaz started his career at Inegölspor . He later played with Bursaspor , Belediye Vanspor , Diyarbakırspor , Malatyaspor , Konyaspor , Orduspor , Panthrakikos and Sakaryaspor, among others . He then played for the Istanbul club Tepecikspor in the TFF 3rd Lig .

During the time at Bursaspor Okan Yılmaz was the top scorer in the 2000/01 and 2002/03 seasons , but he never made the breakthrough. After his club was relegated to the second-rate TFF 1st Lig at the end of the 2003/04 season , he remained loyal to his club despite lucrative offers. Here he was the top scorer of the second highest Turkish league with 25 meetings in 29 games. Nevertheless, the club did not succeed in direct recovery. So Yılmaz separated after eight years from Bursaspor and switched to Malatyaspor .

National team career

For Turkey he played seven games and scored five goals. In the Confederations Cup in 2003 , he scored three goals in five games.
