Taner Demirbaş (born November 20, 1978 in Araklı ) is a former Turkish football player . He was two-time top scorer in the TFF 1st Lig , which he reached in the 2005/06 seasons (with Ufuk Ateş ) and 2006/07 . He is one of the most successful second division hunters in general and one of the most successful of the second division times of the 2000s in particular.

Career

society

Demirbaş was born in the northern Turkish port city of Araklı , while some sources indicate Ereğli as the place of birth . He made the leap to professional football at the second division Erdemir Ereğlispor . Here he was accepted as an amateur player in the professional squad in the spring and made his professional debut on April 16, 1995 in the league game against Sakaryaspor . In his second encounter, he also scored his first goal against Çaykur Rizespor . In the last game of the season in which Ereğlispor faced DÇ Karabükspor , Demirbaş scored all three goals in his team's 3-1 win, thus earning the first hat trick of his professional career. His club missed relegation at the end of the season and was relegated. As a seventeen-year-old Demirbaş scored four goals in four second division games and attracted so many talent hunters to himself. In the summer of 1995 he moved to the third division club Bursa Merinosspor , a club that worked closely with the first division club Bursaspor and provided them with talent. At Merinosspor, Demirbaş quickly made it into the starting eleven. In his first season he scored eight goals in 22 games and increased in the second with 17 goals in 30 games.

After two years for Merinosspor, he moved to the first division side Bursaspor in the summer of 1997 . At Bursaspor he competed in the strum with players like Murat Sözkesen , Elvir Baljić and Cafer Aydın and could not prevail. He was used in just four league games until the winter break and scored three goals. In the spring of 1997 Demirbaş was given to the second division side Adıyamanspor . At this eastern Turkish club, Demirbaş only experienced a disappointing second half of the season, in which he could not score a goal in ten games. In the second division season 1998/99 Demirbaş tied to his old form. With 21 goals this season, he became one of the most successful strikers of the season. The first half of the 1999/00 season he scored eleven goals and left the club for the winter break towards league competitor Konya SÜ Endüstrispor . With this club he scored only two goals by the end of the season and left the club with the end of the season.

After leaving Endüstrispor, he moved to third division Adana Demirspor in the summer of 2000 . With this club he experienced his highest scoring season. The third division season 2000/01 he ended with 39 goals as the top scorer of the 3rd Lig and was so significantly involved in the championship of his team. Since Turkish professional football was expanded from three leagues to four in the summer of 2001, the championship of the third division did not mean promotion to the second-highest division as usual, but merely the remaining in the third-highest division. In his second season at Demirspor Demirbaş scored 26 goals and was instrumental in ensuring that his club rose to the Türkiye 2. Futbol Ligi Aategorisi through the playoff victory of the league . Promoted in this league, Demirbaş continued his performance. With 19 goals he was second behind Yunus Altun on the top scorer list and for the third time in a row he was the club's most successful scorer.

In the summer of 2003 Demirbaş finally left Demirspor and moved within the league to Mersin İdman Yurdu . At Mersin he immediately established himself as a top performer and with 15 goals he became the most successful goalscorer of his team. Despite this performance, he left after just one season Mersin and signed instead with the League rival Kayseri Erciyesspor on. Demirbaş also established himself as a top performer at Erciyesspor and scored 22 league goals by the end of the season. With these goals he was second in the top scorer list of the second highest division and was thus significantly involved in the promotion of his team to the Süper Lig .

Despite the successful time at Erciyesspor, he left this club after the end of his one-year contract and hired the first division team Malatyaspor . At this club he could not prevail against the strikers like Okan Yılmaz and Mustafa Özkan and came to the winter break on eight league games, in which he remained without scoring. During the winter break he was loaned to the second division club Sakaryaspor . At this club he immediately became a goal getter and was instrumental in the playoff victory and the promotion of his team. He scored 20 goals in 17 games and was thus together with Ufuk Ateş from Altay Izmir top scorer, although he had only played in the second half of the second division. At the end of the season he returned to Malatyaspor. In the meantime, this club had missed relegation in the Süper Lig and therefore kept Demirbaş in the squad for the upcoming second division season. At Malatyaspor Demirbaş achieved the performance he expected this time. He scored 27 goals in 33 league games for the Central Anatolians and defended his top scorer's crown. His team finished the league in third place in the table and missed the last chance to rise in the subsequent playoff round. In the 2007/08 season he continued to be on target and scored eleven goals in 19 games by the winter break. Since Malatyaspor was going through troubled times and was in financial straits, many players left the club. So Demirbaş also changed in the winter break and went to his old club and league rival Sakaryaspor. With this club he finished the season third in the table and qualified for the playoff phase of the league. In these playoffs he was eliminated with his club in the semifinals. He started the new season at Sakaryaspor rather modestly and fell short of expectations. He completed nine games by the winter break, in which he remained without a goal.

After Demirbaş fell short of expectations in the first half of the 2008/09 season, he moved to league rivals Kayseri Erciyesspor during the winter break . Also with this club he stayed in the back of the season in four missions without scoring, so he moved to another club in the summer of 2009. He started the new season at the third division Alanyaspor and gradually found his way back to his old form. After he had scored eight goals in 13 games by the winter break, he moved to the second half of the season for a transfer fee of 150,000 Turkish Lira to league rivals Elazığspor . At this club he stayed a season and went to league rivals Bugsaş Spor when the contract ended . After playing a season for Bugsaş Spor, Demirbaş moved to his old club Adıyamanspor . After playing the 2011/12 season for Adıyamanspor, he ended his playing career in the summer.
