The Türkiye 2. Futbol Ligi Aategorisi 2004/05 was the 42nd season of the second highest Turkish league in professional men's football. It was started on August 28, 2004 with the 1st matchday and ended on May 22nd, 2005 with the 34th and final matchday.

In the 2004/05 season, as in the previous season, it was designed as a single-track league with 18 teams. At the end of the season, the teams in the first three places in the table were promoted directly to the higher 1st Lig and the teams in the last three places in the table were relegated to the lower 2nd Lig B CATEGORY .

At the beginning of the season, three relegated teams from the first Lig Bursaspor , Adanaspor , Elazığspor and the two promoted Mardinspor , Sarıyer SK , Karagümrük SK from the third-rate Türkiye 2. Futbol Ligi Bategorisi were added to the 12 teams remaining from the previous season .

The season ended Sivasspor as champions and rose for the first time in its club history in the top Turkish league. The table places two and three occupied Vestel Manisaspor and Kayseri Erciyesspor and also rose directly to the 1st Lig . While Manisaspor managed direct promotion, Erciyesspor also took part in the top division for the first time in the club's history. At the end of the season, Sarıyer SK , Adanaspor and Karagümrük SK were relegated . While Sarıyer and Karagümrük were relegated to the third-highest division again after one year in the second division, Adanaspor rose again one season after relegation from the 1st Lig.

The top scorer of the league was Okan Yılmaz from the west Turkish representative Bursaspor with 25 goals .
