society

Elmacı started professional football in 1998 at Çanakkale Dardanelspor . Here he received a professional contract in 1998, but initially played another year for the youth team. In the summer of 1999 he was integrated into the professional squad and completed seven second division matches in his first season. In the first half of the 2000/01 season he came to nine league games and spent the second half of the season as a loaner at Göztepe Izmir . In summer 2001 he returned to Dardanelspor and played here for another two years.

In the summer of 2002 he moved to Erzurumspor and from here for the second half of the season to the then first division Altay Izmir . At Altay he only stayed until the end of the season and left the club in the direction of Zonguldakspor . With this club he stayed only one season and then moved on to Yozgatspor . After he was active for this club for one and a half seasons, he moved to Sivasspor within the TFF 1st Lig . With this club he celebrated the championship of the 1st Lig in summer 2005 and thus the first promotion in the club's history to the Süper Lig . The three following seasons he played for Sivasspor in the Süper Lig and was leader of the table with his club for a long time in the 2007/08 season. After defeats at the end of the season, they slipped to fourth place in the table and thus achieved the best placement in the club's history to date.

After his contract, which expired in the summer of 2008, was not extended, Elmacı moved to Gençlerbirliği Ankara within the league . Here he was only on the bench in his first season and played the next season as a loan player for the first division clubs Diyarbakırspor and Kasımpaşa Istanbul .

From 2010 he played one season for the second division Altay Izmir and then for the third division Pendikspor .

In early September 2012, his move to the second division Şanlıurfaspor was announced.

National team

During his time at Çanakkale Dardanelspor , Elmacı was nominated five times for the Turkish U-17 national team and was used once.
