Çanakkale Dardanelspor is a Turkish football club from Çanakkale . The club played a total of three seasons in the Süper Lig in the 1990s and is 50th in their all-time table .

history

Çanakkale Dardanelspor was founded in 1966, the club colors are red and white . The home games are played in the 18 Mart Stadı, the capacity is 15,000 (12,500 seats). In 1966, the team named Çanakkalespor appeared. Since 1991 the team appears as Çanakkale Dardanelspor. Çanakkale Dardanelspor attracted attention in 1992. As a team in the 3rd division, they defeated Samsunspor, leaders of the 2nd division and MKE Ankaragücü , in the Turkish Cup . In the quarterfinals they met Galatasaray Istanbul with Karl-Heinz Feldkamp as coach. Çanakkale Dardanelspor lost 2-0 at the Ali-Sami-Yen Stadium with two goals from Erdal Keser . Despite the defeat and the simultaneous elimination, Dardanelspor won a lot of sympathy. After this small success, the team rose to the 2nd division. During the season, the west Turkish team played in the Süper Lig . The team managed with a strong squad to play in the first division for 3 years. In the 1998/99 season , the team was relegated to the 2nd division. Here she played for seven years until they fell into the 3rd division in 2006. In 2009 they made it back to the 2nd division.
