Tamer Tuna (born July 1, 1976 in Hanak , Ardahan Province ) is a former Turkish soccer player and current soccer coach.

Player career

Club career

Tamer Tuna came from the youth of Galatasaray Istanbul . In the 1994/95 season he was appointed to the 1st team and was awarded to Petrolofisi . After that season he moved to Denizlispor . After two years he went to Çanakkale Dardanelspor . This was followed by a move to Trabzonspor and Beşiktaş Istanbul . With Beşiktaş Istanbul he was Turkish champion in the 2002/03 season .

After this success, Tamer Tuna played for Bursaspor , Samsunspor , Etimesgut Şekerspor , Gaziantepspor and İstanbulspor .

Most recently he played again for Çanakkale Dardanelspor from January 2009 to October 2010 and then ended his current playing career.

National team career

Tamer Tuna played once for Turkey , against France on November 15, 2000 .

Coaching career

After completing his current playing career, he first became a youth coach at Çanakkale Dardanelspor and from summer 2011 team coach. He led this club in the fourth division season 2012/13 to the playoff win of the season and thus to promotion to the TFF 1st Lig . In October 2013, Tuna resigned from his coaching position.

In November 2013 he was introduced to his former club Gaziantepspor as an assistant coach and will assist his former teammate Sergen Yalçın .
