Ferhat Kaplan (born January 7, 1989 in Izmir ) is a Turkish football player.

Career

Ferhat Kaplan started playing football in the youth of Metaspor and then moved to the youth of Çanakkale Dardanelspor in 2005 . In 2006 he signed a professional contract with his club and became part of the professional team. In his first two seasons he made a total of 9 league appearances for the professional team. He made his breakthrough as a regular in his third season. Here he was promoted to the 1st Lig (Turkey's second highest league). In the new season, the team did not manage to stay in the league, so they played again in the second league after one season . Even in the 2nd Lig you could not keep the class.

As a result of relegation by two leagues, Çanakkale Dardanelspor could not hold many players. Kaplan moved together with his teammates Sakıb Aytaç and Özgür İleri to the Turkish first division club Gençlerbirliği . In his first season at Gençlerbirliği he was third goalkeeper behind Ramazan Köse and Özkan Karabulut and has not yet played a game for his new club.

In the summer of 2016 he left Gençlerbirliği after not having received a contract extension before and was signed by league rivals Antalyaspor for the 2016/17 season .

National team

Ferhat Kaplan started playing for the Turkish junior national teams early on. Over the years he passed through the Turkish U-18 , U-19 , U-20 and U-21. He was nominated only once for Turkey U-21 , but was not used.
