Sinan Gümüş (born January 15, 1994 in Pfullendorf ) is a German-Turkish soccer player who has been under contract with Fenerbahçe Istanbul since August 2020 .
Career
society
Gümüş was born and raised in Pfullendorf and went through the youth departments of the local clubs TSV Aach-Linz and SC Pfullendorf . With his two goals in the 2-1 final win against SV Sinzheim, Gümüş made SC Pfullendorf the South Baden U-15 Cup winner on June 24, 2009. In 2011 he moved to the U19 Juniors at VfB Stuttgart .
As a youth player, Gümüş made his professional debut on December 15, 2012 for VfB's second team on matchday 22 of the 2012/13 season in the third division against Karlsruher SC .
On July 8, 2014, Gümüş signed a contract with Galatasaray Istanbul that was dated until 2019 . After moving to Istanbul, he was accepted as a supplementary player in the professional squad by head coach Cesare Prandelli , but trained and played exclusively for the club's reserve team, which was geared towards young talent. In this U21 team, he immediately established himself as a regular player and top performer. So he quickly began to top the scorers list of the reserve team league, the U21 Ligi . It was only after Galatasaray replaced Prandelli with Hamza Hamzaoğlu in December 2014 that Gümüş was taken into account in the professional team's planning. He made his professional debut in the cup match on December 16, 2014 against fourth division club Balçova Yaşamspor , in which he also scored his debut goal for Galatasaray (final score 9: 1). Ten days later he was used in the away game against Gençlerbirliği Ankara and made his league debut here. A year and a day later he scored for Cimbom for the first time in the league, against Kayserispor to the 1-1 final.
Gümüş played for Galatasaray for five years and was three times Turkish champion and cup winner. His contract was not renewed for the 2019/20 season and Gümüş moved to Italy to CFC Genoa on a free transfer . In January 2020 Sinan Gümüş was loaned to the Turkish first division club Antalyaspor for the rest of the season (second half of the season) .
For the 2020/21 season, Gümüş moved again to Istanbul in August 2020 , but this time to arch-rival Fenerbahçe Istanbul , where he signed a three-year contract.
National team
In October 2013 Gümüş was nominated for a four-nation tournament in the Netherlands by the German U20 coach Frank Wormuth for the German U20 national team. There he made his international debut for Germany in a 3-0 win over Turkey on October 10, 2013. Two days later, Sinan Gümüş scored his first U20 international goal for Germany against the Netherlands. In the meantime, Gümüş is no longer ruling out a move to the Turkish national team if an offer is made to him.
