Jailson Marques Siqueira (born September 7, 1995 in Caçapava do Sul , State of Rio Grande do Sul , Brazil), usually called Jailson for short , is a Brazilian soccer player who has been under contract with Fenerbahçe Istanbul since the end of August 2018 .

Player profile

Jailson is a 1.78 meter tall defensive midfielder who is right-footed. He can also play in central and right midfield, among other things, but prefers to play in defensive midfield. There Jaílson shows his primary strengths of passing security and tackling strength .

The beginnings

Jailson was born in Caçapava do Sul municipality in the south of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. In the neighboring city of Bagé , he began in the youth department of the local Guarany Futebol Clube with club football. Jaílson then played for the youth department of Gremio Porto Alegre and on loan for the Chapecoense .

In 2016 he was promoted to the professional team of Grêmio Porto Alegre and won at least one title with the team every year. As a 21-year-old young substitute, Jaílson first won the Brazilian Cup (2016) in the finals against Atlético Mineiro , for which they later qualified for the Copa Libertadores (2017) . In November 2017, the 22-year-old Brazilian won the Copa Libertadores , the most important title in South American club football, as a starting eleven with Gremio . With the Copa Libertadores victory in 2017, he and the team qualified for the Recopa Sudamericana (2018), South American club supercup , and for the FIFA Club World Cup in December 2017 in the United Arab Emirates , in which they finished second by they reached the final of the tournament. In February 2018, the next Recopa Sudamericana title followed for Jailson, he acted as a starting eleven in the games. The Brazilian achieved the most important titles in international South American club football competitions at the age of early twenties.

Jailson played 114 competitive games in three seasons for the professional team of Gremio and scored four goals.

Change abroad

During the 2018/19 season, he moved to Turkish first division club Fenerbahçe Istanbul in August 2018 . In November 2018, Jailson made his intercontinental derby game debut and his first goal for Fenerbahçe in the league match against Galatasaray Istanbul . With his goal he equalized the opponent's initial 2-0 lead, which ended in a 2-2 draw. After the end of the game there was a huge pack formation , where Jailson rushed over and hit one of his opponents in the face . For which he received a red card from the referee , whereupon the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) further sanctioned him for the assault with a suspension of eight competitive matches in the Turkish football competitions (league and cup) and a fine. Furthermore, after scoring a goal against arch rivals Galatasaray, Jaílson became a real Fenerbahçe player according to the Fenerbahçe mythology .
